(You can see how long it was in those Halloween pictures I posted up earlier this week.) During that time, I cut my hair by myself every six months or so. I would simply just part it in the middle and cut off two or three inches.

I got my hair cut at a place called Salon Xia in Pasadena as a favor to one of Echo's roommates. His roommate is a certified stylist and is currently looking for a job in a salon. Today was his interview at Salon Xia and I was his model. I basically gave him free reign over my hair.

"Just do whatever you think is best," I said.

He ended up cutting off nine inches and now my hair stops right past the bottom of my shoulder blades. I am not used to of the short length, but I do love the cut. My hair is way healthier and it falls nicely. The owner of the salon really liked his work. I hope he gets the job!

Isn't it silky smooth?
Bebe Eyes! & Other Stuff...

I am getting new glasses! I really love the company, so I decided to get my frames from Bebe. I cannot wait until I receive them.

Aren't they cute?

This last weekend felt really long for some reason. I divided my time between Echo, Trinh, and being at home to keep an eye on my mother, who is really sick at the moment. Echo is also sick, so we spent most of our time lounging around his place. The swine flu has been getting closer and closer to me. My uncle has it, my coworkers brother has it, and some other friends have it as well. When you really think about it, it's just another strain of influenza. I am wondering if my mother has it, but then again, a lot of people have been getting sick lately.

Echo and I are doing okay. We have fallen into a routine where it's a given that we see each other everyday. I like that. However, I also like the fact that I am okay with not seeing him everyday. I don't feel so clingy and dependent like I did in my previous relationship. I know it's hard for me to say that given that I do see him everyday, but I know I don't feel as reliant on a boyfriend-type figure as I used to.

Trinh and I have been hanging out as much as we can, although sometimes the somewhat long drive to her gets in the way. Despite that, we hang out at least once or twice a week. On Saturday, we went to a mall near her house and attended the Hello Kitty birthday party at the Sanrio store there. Trinh and I also played some games and won some cute prizes. I also got a Hello Kitty headband type thing and wore it around the mall while we were there.

I was finally able to schedule my CPA exam! Today, I scheduled all four parts of the exam, which I will take next year. The first part I am ready to take is not available until January 4, 2010, so that's when I will take it. Until then, I am going to study on my own and get ready for that part.

Halloween

I was not planning on dressing up this year, but Edgar gave me the idea that I should be a mistress (dominatrix) for Halloween. That got the plan into motion and I went out Friday night and purchased a corset, fishnet stockings, and boots. This is the final product...

What do you think?

This is the first year that I dressed all skanky for Halloween. They always say that Halloween is the one night where a girl can dress all slutty without getting criticism. I never really paid too much attention to that rationale until this year. We all got to do it at least once.

Status: Attached

Well fuck me... The one thing I didn't want to happen has happened. I am attached. Don't get me wrong, I knew something like this could happen. It was inevitable. This notion of attachment has been creeping up on me for about a week or two, but I did not allow myself to really believe it until yesterday. I had not heard from him for better part of the day and I started getting worried or perhaps I missed him and wanted to hear from him.

Then I stopped myself... This is exactly what I used to do in my previous relationship. These emotions were way too familiar. In such instances, my method for unattaching myself is to remember how heartbroken I was with Daryl when he broke up with me. I also like to think about how it was before we even broke up... How insecure and paranoid I was or how selfish Daryl could be.

Trying to remember the hurtful past in order to distance myself from what is now presently can only work for so long. I am slowly starting to forget, or maybe get over, all the pain I endured. This passage of time, I suppose, is what is allowing me to become attached.

Then again, things have been going pretty well with us recently so it's hard to tell whether I would still be willing to walk away. Something tells me I will be able to, though. I fought so hard to keep my last relationship together, that I don't see the point in fighting for something that, at times, should not be fought for. I figure if a relationship is worth enough to two people, you won't have to fight for it. There will be hard times, but it should not have to get to the point where one person is fighting for something the other person has turned their back on (*ahem*). Screw that, right? It's just not worth it.

Waking Up Laughing

Have you ever woken up laughing? I did for the first time a few nights ago. I was sleeping over at Echo's house and dreaming of Matthew McConaughey. The dream was not even funny in the slightest, but for some reason I woke up laughing. And it was not my normal kind of laughter, it was a kind of unregulated, uninhibited jolly laughter. I realized what had happened and it made me laugh even more. My laughter woke Echo up and he was a little bewildered as to why I was laughing. He pulled me close and we went back to school sleep (Thanks, L). Ahh... It was hilarious.

I have been spending a lot of time with him, more than I ever did with Daryl towards the end of our relationship. It feels a little weird, yet comforting at the same time. I need to kick myself in the teeth because, although I am not seriously attached to this person, I am nevertheless getting attached. I know he really likes me a lot. He brings me around his family at times. I, on the other hand, actively seek to keep him and my family and friends separate. Right now, I just want to keep it that way. Echo mentioned a couple days ago that when spring break comes, we should go to Mexico for vacation because his parents have a house over there. I wonder if we will even be "together" then? Oh well. Fuck it. Come what may, right?

I barely got the payment coupon to pay for the CPA exam last Friday. I paid the fees right away and am waiting for NASBA to give me notice to schedule the exam. This application process, which I started at the beginning of July, is taking way longer than I ever anticipated. I am hoping I can take the Financial section of the exam this year and then focus on the other three portions next year.

Las Vegas!

Our weekend in Las Vegas was a relaxing one. We left on Friday around 8am and arrived at The Strip around midnight where we went straight to Monte Carlo, the hotel and casino we were to stay at for the next couple of days. We were really tired, so stayed up a little before going to sleep.

We woke up early on Saturday morning for Thao's ruby game, which was held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It was a success because her team won! They were losing up until the last minute of the game when they scored the winning points.

After the rugby game was over, we were free to do whatever we wanted. Saturday and Sunday were basically spent the same- walking around the strip, going to various casinos, gambling, and eating. On Sunday morning, we went to the buffet at the Wynn where we ate for two hours. Craig got to meet up with one of his old high school buddies. Unfortunately, I was not able to see Jazmine. To say the least, she basically bailed on me throughout the entire Saturday. I was a little upset about it so I just gave up and hung out with my brother and everyone else. Despite that, the entire trip was fun and very chill.

I did not take a lot of pictures, so here are a few...

Thao taking a break during the rugby game.

Valeting our car at the Monte Carlo.

I thought this sign was funny. The office was a bit crazy, but we made it over the hump. Tax returns for individuals are usually due on April 15th, but you can always file a six-month extension that will allow you to file on or by October 15th instead. People were still bringing in their information a couple days before the 15th. That's just rude, if you ask me.

Other than work, I have been studying as much as I can and hanging out with Echo. If memory serves correctly, I have been seeing him everyday this week. It's been nice. We hang out at his place a lot. Lately we have been watching movies and playing air hockey. I like laying down with him and relaxing after a full day of work and studying.

Today, I am off to Vegas with Craig, Thao, Kenji, and Mel! We are going for the weekend because Thao has a rugby match there. It's going to be awesome!

Less Echo, More Trinh

I spent Friday evening with Echo in Burbank. We went to eat at this restaurant called Granville, which was pretty good because they try to make everything using organic foods. After dinner, we went to the nearby theaters and watched most of Couples Retreat as well as Paranormal Activity. I have been having a hard time sleeping at night ever since I watched Paranormal Activity. I keep thinking about the scene where the girl gets dragged from the bed down the hallway by the demon. After dinner and the movies, we went back to his house where I just took off and went back to my home. I wanted to get enough rest for Saturday.

On Saturday, it was Trinh's father's birthday, so they had a small celebration at her parent's house. Las Wednesday was Trinh's 23rd birthday, so it was kind of like a dual-celebration. The funniest part was when her father smashed a plateful of cake in her face. After the celebration, Trinh and I went to Montebello Mall to get our nails done. She got a manicure/pedicure, while I got a full set of fake nails. I feel so feminine now! When our nails had dried, we went over to Alhambra to get some boba before heading back to Trinh's area. She needed some groceries, so we went grocery shopping at a nearby Food 4 Less.

I returned again yesterday, where we went to an amazing Peruvian restuarant for a late lunch. We spent the remainder of the day just hanging around being lazy. It was amazing!

Now another work week begins. The second part of the CPA review has ended and the third part is supposed to begin next week. However, I am still waiting to pay for the exam and schedule it. I am seriously considering postponing the third review so that I can actually take the part of the exam that I just reviewed for. I already took the first portion of the review, but was unable to take te exam a couple months ago due to the paperwork process. I do not want to take the third review being that I still have not taken the first two portions. Postponing the third review will allow time for the paperwork process to be completed and let me study proficiently for the part of the exam that I just took the review for.

Although the weekend just ended, I am already looking forward to next weekend. Vegas, baby!

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

The last time I left you, I was at the office working overtime due to server issues. For some reason, our data has been getting corrupted from either our server and/or backups being not running properly. Whatever the case, I spent eight and a half hours last Friday doing a bunch of stuff, which resulted in... NOTHING. The bosses ending up calling me the next day because the same issues started happening again.

After work, I spent the rest of the day with Echo. We went to Redondo Beach at night to hang out by ourselves. Our original plan was to go to some bars over in Hermosa Beach, but we couldn't find any parking so we just headed over to Redondo Beach. I spent the night at his house and it was the best night I have ever spent there. Now, before you all start thinking dirty, I am not referring to sex at all. Instead, the thing that made the night so comforting and awesome was that I spent the entire night naked, wrapped in Echo's arms under a blanket.

On Saturday, I spent the morning studying on my own and then went to the Glendale Galleria to look for a birthday gift for Trinh. I found a few good things. I also exchanged the iPod Classic 160GB that I got earlier in the week for an iTouch 32GB. I am happy that I made the exchange, because the iTouch is infinitely better than the iPod. Everything is easier and faster. Craig's girlfriend, Thao, invited some of us over for dinner that night. She made homemade pasta and sauce. She actually made the pasta from scratch, as well as the sauce. I have never had tastier or fresher pasta in my life. That girl can cook!

Echo and I met up again on Saturday night. I went over to his area from Craig and Thao's place to pick him up at his sister's house, who lives nearby. I thought I was just picking him up, but I ended up meeting all of his siblings for they were celebrating one of his sisters' birthday. I have already met his brother, but I was a little nervous to meet and spend a little time with all of Echo's siblings. I was nervous, but everyone was welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Sunday was Sunday. I slept over again on Saturday night, so Echo and I had some breakfast on Sunday morning before we parted our ways. I spent the day resting and studying. Now it's Tuesday and it is almost at its end. A trip to Las Vegas has been planned for Craig, Thao, Melanie, Kenji, and myself. We are going on October 16th because Thao has a rugby match in Vegas that weekend, so we decided to make a mini trip out of it. The thing I am most looking forward to is being reunited with an old friend from high school, Jazmine. I have not seen her for about four years and can't wait to see her again!

I hate technology!

I am stuck here at work until our server issues are resolved. We have been having issues for the past couple weeks and they have recently become too big to ignore. I have called technical support at least once a day for the past week. Now, some of our tax and document data has disappeared. The files can be seen on our server, yet they do not appear in the software programs they are apart of. It is 1:42pm and I was supposed to get off at 2pm.

I had a plan today. I was going to get off at 2pm and go home where I was going to study, do some homework, and change my bed sheets. A nap was probably in order after this and maybe see Echo. That plan has gone to shit, thanks to our server being stupid.

*sigh*
